4. Baindur Beach: Baindur is a tiny village at a distance of forty five kilometers from Maravanthe Beach. The nearby Baindur Beach is a must visit place in Udupi. A place called Ottanane near Baindur is very popular for its splendid sunset. 

5. Anegudde Vinayaka Temple: It is at a distance of nine kilometers from Kundapur. This magnificient temple stands tall atop the rocky hills at Kumbasi. This temple is one of the 7 pilgrimages specified in the Parashurama Kshethra. 

6. Vadapandeshwara Temple: From this temple you will get to see one of the most astounding sunsets whenever the sky is clear. This temple is devoted to Balarama who was as per the legends the brother of lord Krishna. The idol of the deity here was excavated from Gopichandana and is now housed here. This temple is at a distance of seven kilometers from Udupi on the coast.

7. Barakur Fort: This fort was build when Emperor Harihara of Vijayanagar reigned here. The ruins are still quite well preserved here. This fort is located at a distance of approximately seventy four kilometers from Mangalore.

8. The Krishna Temple: This is the most famous temple in Udupi. Devotees start pouring in the temple to offer prayers starting at five in the morning and continue all day long. The legend behind this temple is quite fascinating. It is said that Kanakadasa was a fervent follower of Lord Krishna, however, he was not permitted to enter the temple premises. The Lord was very pleased with his follower and rotated the statue that was in the temple such that Kanakadasa could see the idol from a tiny window at the back. This window till date is called the Kanakana Kindi.

9. Ananteshwar Temple: This temple is popularly known as the Manjula Kshetra as well as the Temple of Eighteen Towns. This temple is devoted to Lord Shiva and is also the place where Shaivites originated. This temple is closely related to Madhvacharya, it is said that he recited the Aitareya Upanishad right where the temple is as of date. The frequently visited Chandramauleshwara Temple is located right in front of the Ananteshwar Temple.

10. Chandramoulishwar Temple: This temple is popularly known as Udupi’s grandfather temple. It is believed that visiting this temple before visiting the Krishna Temple can grant all the wishes of a pure hearted devotee. The legend behind this temple is extremely fascinating. It is said that Daksha Prajapati cursed the moon. To free himself from the curse, the Moon carried out self-abasement. Lord Shiva pleased with the moon freed him from the curse. Hence this place was named Chandramoulishwar in other words Lord Shiva.  

11. Pajaka: This place in Udupi exudes immense natural beauty. The famous Dvaita scholar Sri Madhavacharya was born here.

12. Kaup Beach: This beach is situated at a distance of twelve kilometers from Udupi. This is one of the most beautiful and extremely rejuvenating beaches around. This beach has a hundred feet tall lighthouse amidst the rocks. This place is heaven for photographers. This beach is a tranquil place with abundant beauty of nature. The setting of the place on the beach oozes romance in the air.
