Pillar Rocks: This is situated at a distance of eight kilometers from the bus stand. Pillar rocks are set of three huge rock pillars that are about one hundred and twenty two meters tall. This place comes under the management of Tamil Nadu Forest Department. This place may be crowded; however, it is yet not commercialized. You can also visit the beautiful public garden right next to the Pillar Rocks.
Guna Caves or the Devil’s Kitchen: Devil’s Kitchen is a highly dangerous deep obscure ravine that seems to be like small dark gutters but in reality are deep fall. Hundreds of tourists visit this place despite the risky nature of this place. If you are the adventurous kind then you must visit this place for sure. This place is located between the Green Valley View and the Pillar Rocks. If you are new to the place then take a local guide along to this place.
Silver Cascade: Silver Cascade waterfalls are about one hundred and eighty feet high. The frothy water falling through the piles and piles of large rocks is a stupefying site. The falls are situated at a distance of eight kilometers from Kodaikanal on a broad bend in the stretchy winding Laws Ghat Road at a height of one thousand and eight hundred meters. The height of the water fall is fifty five meters and they are formed from the effluence of Kodaikanal Lake. This water is not safe for taking a dip as the water is not clean. However, this must not deter you from visiting this picturesque waterfall. You must also checkout the much smaller but equally serene waterfall right below the bridge that is built over the stream at this place.
Dolphin’s Nose: This place is at a distance of eight kilometers from the bus stand. Dolphin’s Nose is a flat rock protruding over an exhilarating chasm about six thousand meters deep. This is a quite area one kilometer below an excessively steep and rocky track starting right after the Pambar Bridge. You can enjoy refreshing orange juice from a vendor along the path. Amazing views of steep stony escarpments arising from the plains are visible from here. Vellagavi, an old village, can be visited by following a broken bridle path from here. A short paved path takes one from the road here to the Pambar Falls. The famous liril advertisement was shot at the Pambar falls.
Silent Valley View: This viewpoint is another significant and beautiful place that is not to be missed by anyone interested in nature. It is located near to the Pillar Rock. The panoramic view offered by this valley always makes the tourists stay a little longer than intended. If you have small children along then you must be exceptionally careful as the valley is very deep. Best time to visit this place is either early in the morning or late on the evening.
Thalaiyar Falls: They are also known as the Rat Tail Falls. It is amongst the highest fall in India. The water drops from a height of 975 feet.
