There are several beaches on Goa and each one has something different and exuberant to offer from the other. What Goa beach you want to spend your evening will depend on your mood and the kind of fun you want to have. Here is a brief on the best beaches on Goa.
Agonda
Where: It is situated in South Goa, right next to the Palolem Beach. It is at a distance of 43 kilometers from Marago and 75 kilometers from Panaji. The nearest prime railway station is located at Marago. However, a small railway station is also located nearby at Canacona.
What: Comparatively long and marooned stretch of this beach is rightly suited for those who seek solitude and calm. It is less crowded and quite peaceful. Any person who wants to unwind must come here and if possible stay here. Simple and elegant hut accommodation right on the beach will make you feel close to nature. The word has started spreading around and more and more people have started coming to this beach. If you wish to experience this beach in its trueness then you have to include it in your next visit to Goa. You will also find some souvenir counters and small restaurants at this beach.
Anjuna
Where: Located in North Goa. It is at a distance of eight kilometers from Mapusa and twenty kilometers from Panaji. The nearest railway station is at Thivim.
What: Anjuna beach was once a popular abode to hippies. Though the hippies are now gone but their history remains. The Flea Market at Anjuna beach organized every Wednesday is now a huge affair. Most shoppers can be found lazing at the Anjuna beach shacks after the Flea Market is over. A place known as Curlies, on the south end of the beach, is a popular place. The shacks are required to shutdown by 12pm due to party laws in this area. However, you can still enjoy the night at some shacks on the rocky north side of the beach which stay open beyond midnight. Anjuna’s notorious Paradiso Disco is also situated at the north side of the beach.
Arambol
Where: It is situated in North Goa at a distance of thirty two kilometers from Mapusa and fifty kilometers from Panaji. The nearest railway station is situated at Pernem.
What: This is the new hippie home, situated on the coastline’s far north corner. At one time it was a tiny fisherman’s village, but now it is swarming with travelers. You can participate in innumerable holistic practices here such as yoga camps, meditation sessions, tai chi and reiki workshops. Water sports are also a popular pastime on this beach. Don’t forget to go dolphin sight seeing as well when you are here. There are relaxing live performances and jam sessions taking place at several spots around this beach. In the north direction the isolated Keri Beach and Tiracol Fort are situated. If you enjoy walking then make sure you do hike north to enjoy the peace and calm.
Varca, Cavelossim & Morbor
Where: They are situated in South Goa at a distance of eight kilometers from Marago and forty kilometers from Panaji.
What: They are clear and unspoiled fishing beaches and the home to Goa’s best luxury spa resorts. You will also find few shacks, water sports activity and small shops at this beach. However the beaches are clean and clear. The nightlife is restricted to resort clubs and few bars at this beach.
